Robin de Flores studies hippocampal subfields and the medial temporal lobe in aging and Alzheimer’s disease. After research at Inserm and the Université de Caen Normandie in France, Robin worked at Penn in the Department of Neurology and at PICSL from about 2019 to 2022, with David Wolk and Paul Yushkevich. Work from that period includes the contribution of mixed pathology to medial temporal lobe atrophy in Alzheimer’s disease (Alzheimer’s & Dementia, 2020), characterization of hippocampal subfields using ex vivo MRI and histology (Hippocampus, 2020), and structural and molecular vulnerabilities of medial temporal lobe networks (Journal of Neuroscience, 2022), as well as the tau-neurodegeneration mismatch and ADNI3 medial temporal lobe studies.
Robin is now at Inserm in Caen, in the Neuropresage team, and continues to collaborate with PICSL, including on harmonized protocols for segmenting hippocampal subfields.
