Yifan Wu earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Penn, advised by Jim Gee, with the dissertation “Knowledge-Integrated Learning for AI in Medical Image Analysis” (2024). Yifan’s research spanned image registration and knowledge-guided medical AI: first author of NODEO, a neural ODE framework for deformable image registration (CVPR 2022), and of a concept-based interpretable model for diagnosing choroid neoplasias from multimodal data (Nature Communications, 2025), and a contributor to “A Textbook Remedy for Domain Shifts: Knowledge Priors for Medical Image Analysis” (NeurIPS 2024).
