David Weiss was a doctoral student in Bioengineering at Penn working at PICSL on deep learning for clinical brain MRI. David was first author of “Automated multiclass tissue segmentation of clinical brain MRIs with lesions” (NeuroImage: Clinical, 2021), with Jeffrey Rudie, and contributed to multi-disease segmentation of gliomas and white matter hyperintensities (Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2019), a study of how well a deep learning lesion segmentation model transfers between institutions (Radiology: Artificial Intelligence, 2022), and the UCSF brain metastases stereotactic radiosurgery dataset (Radiology: Artificial Intelligence, 2024).
